Turning books into Bread

Parson's Porch & Book Publishing is a book publishing company with a double focus.  We focus on the needs of creative writers who need a professional publisher to turn their words into books, & we also focus on the needs of others by turning their books into bread by sharing our profits with those who are homeless and displaced by meeting their basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and safety.

Parson's Porch Books is a pioneer of the publishing services industry. We do not charge for our services. Publishing an author's book is a gift to the author. One of our founding principles, dating back to when we were newly incorporated and making books out of a basement office, is that authors should have control over their work. This principle still stands today as we help authors every month publish their work in the manner and form that they envision.

Giving authors control is why we don't take rights and why we are nonexclusive. This means that you can achieve publication with us and offer your work to publishers and agents. And if you are one of the fortunate few, you can immediately go with your new publisher with no strings attached. We are here to provide services that help you succeed as a writer.

Parson's Porch has been publishing books for over a decade. Now with almost 450 titles in print for over 220 authors, you can count on our extensive experience to provide dependable, long-term, individualized support through the publishing process and in the years that follow.

When you publish with Parson's Porch & Company:

  • You retain all the rights to your book
  • You completely control the book design
  • You can publish quickly
  • You can prove the value of your work
  • You can have paperback and hardback availability
  • You can distribute your book worldwide
  • You can target your niche market
  • You gain access to your audience
  • You earn royalties on every sale
  • Your book will never go out of print

Parson's Porch & Company is also a soulful company with a deep sense of practical justice.  We work closely with local agency like the New Life Community Kitchen,  The Salvation Army, and Cleveland Emergency Shelter to insure that the basic need of the homeless and scattered people of Cleveland have their basics needs met.

We asked two questions: How are you doing? and What do you need? Then, we listen to see what their needs are and we meet them.

We use our profits to provide scattered people who are homeless or displaced with everyday needs like:  socks and shoes, underpants and tee shirts, tents and ponchos, britches and shirts, towels and washcloths, shaving cream and razors, Laundry quarters and bus tickets, soap and shampoo, Vienna sausage and potted meat, toilet papers and wipes, Toothpaste and tooth brushes, Q-tips and facial tissue, ball caps and hair brush, canned fruit and pudding, Haircuts and postage stamps.
